Current Information:Age-22 4A, Durham Street, Vauxhall Gunners Farm Military Cemetery, Belgium 11th Royal West Surrey (Queens) were formed in Lambeth in June 1915 and arrived in France a year later as part of 123 Brigade, 41st Division. In July, 1916, while all attention was focused on the great events happening further south on the Somme, 41st Division were holding the line further north, just above Armentières. On 3rd July, 11th Queens moved into the front line trenches at Le Bizet. Frederick Edwards died of wounds on 10th July, 1916, but as yet there is no information as to when and where he was wounded. |
